1. Can a parent drop off their child and leave them to wait for their appointment?
All children under 15 must have an adult with them in the waiting room until the therapist collects them. This is to keep all children safe and adequately supervised.
2. Does the parent of the client need to stay for the duration of the session and can the parent leave and come back once the session is finished?
*If you have discussed with the therapist that it is ok for you to leave and come back at the end of your child’s session, please stay within 5 minutes of the clinic in case we need you to come back.
3. Is parking available on site?
Spark Speech Pathology does not have designated parking, however there is on street parking available on Glen Huntly road as well as adjoining side streets.
4. What payment arrangements can be made for the therapy sessions?
Please now accept in-person payments at the clinic, by card only. Our preferred method of payment is for clients to store credit card details with us. We would then charge the cards automatically the day after the appointments. Alternatively, invoices for appointments are emailed to you or the fund (depending on your preferred method and circumstances), the day after the appointment. Please make sure you have specified the correct email address in your initial paperwork. This can always be changed if needed by contacting our admin team.
Saved credit card details
If you haven’t already stored your credit card details with us, you can request this by contacting admin. Once you have your credit card details stored with us, we will charge the card automatically either overnight or the day after the appointment.
NDIS Funding
In the intake paperwork you would have received, you are able to specify if the client is NDIS funded and how you would like to pay/receive the invoices. You can either have invoices sent to your email and then you claim them from NDIS, OR you can choose to have invoices sent straight to your fund. You can change this arrangement at any time by contacting the admin team.
*Please note we are only able to see self-managed or plan-managed NDIS clients.
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance, you will need to check whether your level of coverage includes speech pathology. In order to claim funds back from your private health insurance, you will need to pay for the invoices yourself and then claim back directly from your insurer. Our invoices will have the required item codes in line with HICAPS.
*Please note that report writing and one on one parent meetings are not claimable by health insurance and therefore these invoices wont have item codes.
Medicare
If you have a Medicare referral from your GP e.g. Enhanced Primary Care referral, please provide this to admin so that we can invoice you with the correct invoice. You will need to pay for these invoices yourself and then claim the rebates back from Medicare.
*Please note, Medicare referrals cannot be used for group sessions, parent meetings or report writing.
